Ever since I started learning music with ELSOM I have enjoyed everything: the concerts, solos, trying new pieces, meeting people and much more. I have benefited from playing a number of instruments alongside learning the theory.
I heard about ELSOM through my church. At the time we learnt piano with our dad who taught us the basic rudiments of music. Fiona Pacquette (being the Church Conductor and Managing Director of ELSOM), was happy to invite us to improve our fluency in playing piano and add other instruments. She now teaches us Music theory.
ELSOM really helped me realise that it is never too late to learn. The encouragement, support, knowledge of all things music and implementing a "you can do it!" attitude has helped me
progress in my music theory exams and practically playing.
For the past 4 years, I really appreciate the teaching I have received in Violin and Piano. I started from zero and struggled especially with Piano at the very beginning, but Kieron kept motivating and pushing me to not give up. I am on course of preparing for grade 4 violin. I appreciate the fact that Kieron took time out of his holiday to continue teaching me on zoom. Thank you Kieron for not giving up on me and being always there.
We teach anybody willing to learn. From the age 5 years old up to any age. We can help you attain your music grades / certifications, and give you wonderful performance opportunities.
We have 2 sites in East London, with all that you need to study, learn, practice and perform. Our facilities include free parking, wheelchair access and disabled toilets.
Not only are our professional tutors extremely capable and able to help you with any educational goals you have, we are a community who will support and help all our members, we are always here for you.

From age 5 years old.
All one-to-one practical sessions with your chosen instrument are 30 minutes. Music Theory classes are also 30 minutes. Voice training and Guitar lessons are set at one hour sessions.
Our regular hours of teaching are from 10:00am on Sundays, 3:00pm Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays – for the first four Sundays/Mondays of every month. There are no lessons on the fifth Sunday. Fifth Sundays are reserved for Music Exams and/or catch up lessons.
You will be taught by music professionals with years of experience. (See our tutor profiles for more information.) The school is also connected with the Seventh-day Adventist Church and the HACS Philharmonia Chorus (formerly Hampstead Adventist Choral Society) and the HACS Philharmonic Orchestra. These organisations can provide you with opportunities to perform at various events, such as concerts, church services, festivals, and so on.
There are also opportunities to perform at external events, i.e. charity events, community events etc.
If it is a situation beyond your control, your tutor will reschedule the lesson. Otherwise, absences and late cancellations without 24 hours notice are chargeable at the full session rate.

Yes you can. Enter details of your preferred instrument(s) on the Enrolment Form which will be emailed to you.
Certainly not! We encourage people of all ages (from 5 years old) to learn this very valuable skill. Even if you are 100 years old and have an active brain, you are never too old! 🙂
